Main Purpose of Job

The purpose of the Program Manager for Child Protection is to ensure that the agency is prepared to provide a swift and accurate response every time a child has been abused or neglected in Baltimore City. The Program Manager's primary responsibility is oversight of on average 10,000 child protection investigations each year. This includes managing approximately 120 staff, ensuring they have the support and supervision they need to assess the potential risk of harm to any child for whom the agency receives a report, ensuring a speedy investigation is completed and assuring that an accurate decision regarding the removal of a child from their parents is being made. The Program Manager is also responsible for maintaining robust operations 24 hours a day and 365 days per year. This portfolio represents the most critical work of the agency and its obligation to ensure the safety of vulnerable children in the City of Baltimore.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field.

Experience:  Five (5) years of management level experience in Human Services.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate will possess experience with investigations and investigative interviewing skills.
