Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
The Cyber Program Manager will: cultivate and manage key partnerships with special interest groups, vendors, entrepreneurs, educators, legislators, investors, contractors, businesses, and organizations; connect and champion Maryland’s role in cybersecurity through special events, activities, programs, public relations and marketing efforts; represent Commerce at association, council, and community events of all types; direct and ensure successful development and execution of cyber industry events; and facilitate Commerce’s participation in industry conferences both nationally and internationally.
The selected employee will possess excellent interpersonal skills to work with high level public and private sector officials and maintain effective working relationships; excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to handle multiple, concurrent and high priority projects; and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite for Windows including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, Google Mail and/or other relevant software. This position involves travel throughout the State and occasional national and international travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate/Land Use, or a related industry field and
Experience: Six (6) years industrial, business or economic development, marketing, planning, finance, commercial real estate, manufacturing or related field.
Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of relevant degrees in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related STEM field is preferred.
Preference will be given to those candidates that possess recent business and technical experience in Cybersecurity.
