Main Purpose of Job

The incumbent maintains the grounds by operating lawn mowers, tractors, weed-eaters, hedge clippers and sod cutters. Also removes ice and snow from roadways and walkways when necessary. The scope of the area maintained includes 175+ acres and 55 separate buildings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: None

Experience: Six months of experience in the care and maintenance of grounds.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
