DHMH/Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

This position will be responsible for the development, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement through the use of effective methods and/or activities in the Department of Nursing to evaluate clinical information to determine and validate the effectiveness of the Nursing Performance Improvement program. This position receives general supervision from the Director of Nursing, and will supervise lower level staff. This position is considered as Emergency Essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include two years in the option for which application is made. One year of experience in the option for which application is made must have been in a supervisory, administrative, consultative or teaching capacity.

Notes:

1. A Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of the general experience as a Registered Nurse.

2. Two years of additional experience as a Registered Nurse in the option for which application is made may be substituted for the education requirement.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.

2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
