Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the Occupational Therapy Supervisor position will be to provide administrative direction and coordination of Occupational Therapy activities and to optimize services for Western Maryland Hospital Center (WMHC). This position is responsible for assessment, planning, and implementation of patient treatment. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of restorative care services. This position will also serve as an active participant on the Clinical Services Team and establish standards of patient care for Occupational Therapy, which meets all regulatory guidelines and assists patients to reach their maximum potential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Occupational Therapists.

Experience: Four years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.

Note:

1. Candidates may substitute a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Therapy for two years of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications or Therapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228. **Please be sure to attach a copy of your current licensure with your completed application.**

2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.

3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

The evaluation may be a rating of your application based on your education, training, and experience as they relate to the requirements of the position. For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service must accompany the application. All information concerning your qualifications must be submitted by the closing date. We will not consider information submitted after this date. Applicants certified to list will receive eligibility for a period of one (1) year. Eligibility may be extended beyond one (1) year period.
