Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for conducting internal reviews/ audits for the Prince George's County Office of Child Support Enforcement to ensure that each division or unit operates in accordance with Federal, State, and local child support laws, policies, and procedures. The position is responsible for providing pertinent information and documents to aid Federal and State audits. This position is also responsible for assisting in the training of new caseworkers and other team members. Individuals in this position must maintain a working knowledge of all Federal and State regulations governing paternity establishment, support establishment, and enforcement of child support cases as well as regulations governing data reliability and records maintenance. Individuals in this position must possess effective written and oral communication skills.

POSITION DUTIES

Identifies processes within the agency needing review for quality control or compliance with Federal and State regulations. Plans and conducts agency internal reviews. Writes reports on review/audit findings and presents them to agency management with recommendations and corrective actions as required. Assesses the training needs of the agency staff based on deficiencies identified in the internal and external review/audit findings. Creates, prepares, and conducts small and large group trainings within the agency. Conducts and analyzes the semi-annual Quality Control Review of child support cases to ensure proper processing and data reliability. Analyzes agency performance measures and makes recommendations as how to maintain or improve compliance with Federal and State mandated performance goals. Provides customer service to internal and external customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: One (I) year experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One year experience conducting reviews or audits of an agency's processes.

One year experience writing reports that present recommendations and corrective actions based on review/audit findings.

One year experience conducting staff training.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
