DHMH, Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (CHRC), Annapolis, MD

Main Purpose of Job

This position will execute the following activities: (1) Perform onsite performance audits of self-reported outcomes measures of CHRC grantees to ensure overall grant compliance, to verify and authenticate the programmatic data reported by grantees; (2) Support day to day programmatic administration, performance monitoring, and oversight of CHRC grants, to ensure that public funds are used wisely and in accordance with the grant awarded by the Commission and ensure that grantees are held accountable for performance; (3) Under supervision by Executive Director and Senior Policy Advisor, develop grantee performance and evaluation measure and customized reporting templates in MS Excel; (4)Issue recommendation to the Executive Director as to whether grantees are achieving the goals of the program consistent with the CHRC-approved award; (5)Respond to external requests for information about CHRC grants and activities, including developing and updating content for CHRC monthly Newsletter and public website; (6)Create and maintain CHRC public communication media, i.e., oversight of the CHRC website; and (7) Perform public health research and other tasks as needed. The incumbent will examine state and national data sources and performance reports submitted by grantees. The position requires knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas: data analysis, performance measurement, website development, and both oral and written presentation skills. In addition, the ability to work in a small, fast-paced office and meet time-sensitive deadlines on a regular basis is essential. The incumbent in this position must have excellent writing skills and full proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Note:

A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

Qualified candidates should possess:  high attention to detail; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; and, the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines on a regular basis.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
