Queen Anne's County Department of Social Services is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, approximately 60 miles east of the Baltimore –Washington area, across the Bay Bridge.

Main Purpose of Job

Provide overall coordination of the Queen Anne's County Child Abuse Response & Evaluation Center (CARE). The CARE Center is a partnership of the Queen Anne's County Department of Social Services (QACDSS), the Maryland State Police, Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff, the Centreville Town Police, Queen Anne's County State's Attorney's Office, the Mid-Shore Medical Program and mental health consultants. The CARE Center Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and coordinating the multi-disciplinary response to child maltreatment in Queen Anne's County. 

POSITION DUTIES

The position coordinates representatives from various mental health and law enforcement agencies and leads the multi-disciplinary response to child maltreatment. It supervises the development of the budget and ensures compliance with policy and procedures. This position provides counsel and renders expertise to staff and management on all issues related to the CARE Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must meet both Minimum and Selective Qualifications.

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

Notes:

1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration
of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

Applicant must meet both Minimum and Selective Qualifications.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year of experience as a Coordinator of a child advocacy center.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
