LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of the eighth grade and successful completion of the Outboard Marine Corporation or equivalent factory sponsored training course on marine engines.
Experience: Five years experience in the repair of gasoline and diesel engines, three years of which must involve the repair of marine inboard and outboard engines and related maritime systems.
Note:
1. Applicants may substitute a vocational/technical high school education in the curriculum of marine or automotive engine repair for up to two years of the required general experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in engineman classification or engineman specialty codes in the vessel field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please upload a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.htm.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).
Willingness and ability to drive long distances for repair work is preferred.
Prior experience completing service work in the field is preferred.
Experience repairing Evinrude Outboard engines and Kohler generators is preferred.

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
