Introduction

The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for an Administrative Officer vacancy in its Consumer Protection Division. The position supports the Consumer Protection Division's Home Builder Registration Unit.

Main Purpose of Job

The position supports the Consumer Protection Division’s Home Builder Registration Unit. 

POSITION DUTIES

Position responsibilities include inputting and maintaining information in databases, creating and maintaining litigation and registration files, preparing and sending correspondence, processing claims, interacting with the public, receiving and screening telephone calls, and generally assisting with the secretarial administration of the unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Possession of bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university.

Experience: One year of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1.  Applicants may substitute graduate education for the required general experience at the rate of one year of education to one year of experience, for up to two years of the required general experience.

2.  Applicants may substitute additional experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience, for up to two years of the required general experience.

3.  Applicants may substitute additional experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience to one year of education, for up to four years of the required education.

4.  Applicants may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word or WordPerfect
  • Database experience
  • Telephone experience
  • Organizational skills
  • Legal secretary experience
