LOCATION OF POSITION

7800 Harkins Rd Lanham, MD 20706

DHCD's Headquarters Office is located in Prince George's County at the New Carrollton Metro stop.

POSITION DUTIES

DHCD has an immediate opening for an Internal Audit Manager, who reports directly to the Secretary. The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for building an internal audit function at DHCD that assesses risks; develops audit plans; performs financial and operational assessments to evaluate controls and identifies additional efficiency opportunities; and coordinates external audits along with effectively advising management. The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for recommending needed changes to policies and procedures in support of the agency's annual internal audit plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please read carefully, Minimum Qualifications are REQUIRED. 

Education:   Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance or related field.

Experience:  Three years of experience conducting financial and operational internal audits that include elements for finance and compliance, economy and efficiency, and program results.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor is highly desirable.
