Main Purpose of Job

This position will direct the behavioral health integrated mental health and substance abuse program. This position will have overall responsibility of over 65 FTE's and a budget of over $7 million dollars. This position will be responsible for planning, directing, and managing the program, coordinating with other major divisions, and maintaining compliance with COMAR, DHMH guidelines and Joint Commission acccreditation standards. Additionally, this position will work closely with the Health Officer & Deputy to incorporate primary care services into the behavioral health program and implement Worcester County's Behavioral Health program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a license as a Master's level social worker (LCSWC), counselor (LCPC) or professional addictions counselor (LCADC) and one year of experience in personnel supervision and program management.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Credentials in both Mental Health and Addictions are preferred.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates must be licensed as one of the following:

  • Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker, Clinical (LCSWC) by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners;
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists;
  • Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
