LOCATION OF POSITION

Crownsville, Maryland In the future, DHCD will be relocating from Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, to the New Carrollton transit stop location in Prince George’s County.

POSITION DUTIES

DHCD is looking for a Director of  DFA Systems, Reporting and Analysis in the Division of Finance and Administration (DFA).  It is responsible for the security and efficiency of accounting, budgeting, and other financial and records retention systems of DFA.  It also manages the specification, implementation and testing of financial databases and systems, develops financial reports and performs analysis.  It manages accounting/systems professionals.  This is a critical position for DFA and the Department of Housing and Community Development.  Preference will be given to candidates with strong Excel or accounting system skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or a related field. 

Experience: Five years of experience with financial statement preparation and supervising.

Note: Additional experience as described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of experience in governmental accounting
  • Proficiency in MS Excel financial functions 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in achieving deadlines
