Main Purpose of Job

The Springfield Hospital Center is seeking a Director of Medical Services.  Under the leadership of the Clinical Director, this position is responsible for overseeing all medical treatment and providing direct supervision and clinical oversight of the entire somatic staff.  This position requires the holder to be accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.  The Director of Medical Services must display superior leadership ability to move the Medical Department forward and maintain excellence in the rapidly changing evidence-based world of somatic treatment and delivery of quality cost-effective health care.  The incumbent will support the mission of the organization through active participation in clinical efforts to provide treatment in a recovery oriented environment.  The foundation of a recovery oriented environment is respect and a commitment to safety in the least restrictive manner possible.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires an MD degree from an accredited college or university and two years of medical practice experience.   At least one year of this experience must have been supervisory or managerial. 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must be licensed and currently registered with the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law.  A copy of the current registration must be attached to the application.
