Main Purpose of Job

This position provides both fiscal and administrative support for all Welfare Reform Initiatives. Responsibilities include: reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting, and balancing expenditures used with Program 10 funding. All expenditures are entered daily and tracked by creating/updating spreadsheets. Program 10 expenditure tracking consists of tracking Welfare Avoidance Grants, Work Expense Funds, Customer Incentive Funds, and Non-Custodial Parent Employment Funds. All data must be reported to the Employment Team Supervisor via a monthly report. Additionally, this position reviews and updates The Cost Policy Model and Vendor Stat to ensure the models match the actual program expenditures.

POSITION DUTIES

Responsible for the general maintenance and control of daily financial transactions related to Program 10 expenditures. Posts transactions on a daily basis and consults with the Finance department to reconcile discrepancies. Maintains Cost Policy Model and Vendor Stat by reviewing and making adjustments as necessary. Maintains the monthly financial report of the Program 10 budget. Prepares reports/worksheets for special projects and budget presentations. Reviews 312 forms to ensure all signatures and information have been provided accurately. Reconciles gift card and bus pass logs. Processes contracts, invoices, and manages funds for Subsidized Employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.

Note:

1. Candidates may substitute experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of credit courses in Accounting Principles.

Prior experience using Microsoft Excel.
