Main Purpose of Job
The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Board of Nursing (MBON) is seeking a Director of Information Technology. This position will report to the Executive Director and will provide executive level direction to the IT staff. In addition, responsibilities include managing multiple information technology activities concerning all MBON’s infrastructure, systems, databases and IT programs. The incumbent will ensure operational efficiency, consistency and compliance with MBON’s strategic plan, as well as state and federal regulations for all IT systems. This position will also ensure the functionality, security and integrity of all MBON internal and public interfacing systems, applications and databases, data and any other electronic information. The incumbent will be responsible for researching and evaluating new and emerging technologies to keep MBON’s IT resources efficient, effective and safe.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years of professional IT experience, preferably in a health or human services environment, that must have included major project management responsibility. A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
