Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for new eligibility determinations and re-determinations for the Maryland Children's Health Program (MCHP), Families and Children's Program (FAC) and Maryland Children's Health Premium Program. This position provides case management, Health Choice education and provides referral to other programs at the Department of Social Services, WIC and other Health Department programs. All assignments are performed according to State, local and federal regulations or as written in Code of Maryland regulations (COMAR).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.

Notes:

1. Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
