Main Purpose of Job

As Home Manager, appointee's initial assignment will be to assume managerial responsibilities for 24/7 residential unit to which are assigned varying numbers of male/female forensic clients and for which programs/standards/protocols have been specially adapted and specifically implemented. Forensic clients are individuals:

  • a. Who have been deemed incompetent to stand trial;
  • b. Who have been adjudicated as not being criminally responsible; or
  • c. Whose competency needs to be determined via assessment/evaluation/observation.

Home Manager has been charged with ensuring that the treatment of and services provided special forensic population are at all times consistent with the following representative requirements:

  • 1.ICF/MR regulations, HEALTH CARE ARTICLE provisions and CMS;
  • 2.Office of Health Care Quality Guidelines;
  • 3.Center's Policies/Procedures governing staff deportment; Individuals' Rights and Entitlements; Abuse; et al.
  • 4.Court orders especially in terms of any imposed restrictions/limitations or express/ implied judicial expectations; and
  • 5.Security/safety measures specifically identified and implemented to ensure welfare of clients, staff and community-at-large.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields: counseling, education, nursing, occupational or physical therapy, psychology, social work, sociology, speech pathology or audiology, therapeutic recreation or a related human services field.

Experience: One year of experience providing professional services to the developmentally disabled.

Note:

Education and experience requirements are established in Health Care Financing Administration Regulations Chapter IV, Title 42, 442.401 and 483.430 and Interpretive Guidelines.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Persons appointed to positions in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Some positions in this classification are assigned duties which will require the individual to be examined by a physician. After an offer of employment, applicants for such positions will be given a medical examination to certify the ability to perform essential job functions.

2. Employees are subject to call 24 hours a day and therefore, will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
