Introduction
This is a part-time contractual position for the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS), Office of the Secretary (OSEC).
GRADE
$23.31/hour
LOCATION OF POSITION
This position is located at the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services, Office of the Secretary, 300 E. Joppa Road, Towson, Md. (Baltimore County)
Main Purpose of Job
Provides security for the Office of the Secretary by processing all visitors and by following the emergency response procedures.
POSITION DUTIES
Provides security for the Officer of the Secretary by processing all visitors and by following the emergency procedures.
Handles incoming telephone calls and incoming and outgoing mail distribution including photocopying and fax duties.
Assists in the emergency evacuation and drills; conducts inspections of fire safety and evacuation system.
Oversees integrity of security systems and door codes.
Responsible for opening and closing of reception area doors and telephone system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: Ten years of Law Enforcement experience in a State, Local or Federal police agency.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Employees in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number where they can be reached.
2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
