Introduction

This is a Position Specific Recruitment for the Prince George's County Office of Child Support Enforcement limited to current employees working for the Maryland Department of Human Resources (DHR).  If you are not using the education substitution to meet the qualifications, you must possess one year of experience training and supervising staff and meet the minimum education and experience requirements to be approved for this recruitment.

Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of the Prince George's County Office of Child Support Enforcement. This position supervises; coordinates and monitors the work of an assigned group of constituent and staff services workers within the agency; answers questions; responds to inquiries made to the Director from internal and external customers verbally and in writing; counsels employees regarding job duties, office policies, or problems with other agencies; prepares PEP's; conducts evaluation/counseling sessions with employees; trains staff in their established job duties and is the Primary Security Monitor for the agency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please describe in detail any job duties relating to the minimum qualifications stated and include any computer software experience (ex. Word, Excel, Access, etc.) used in each of the positions you held.

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Two years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
