Main Purpose of Job

This position, serving as the Director of Addictions Program, will supervise and manage the Kent County Outpatient Substance Abuse Program and the Kent County Substance Abuse Prevention Program.  Job duties include: directing, managing and evaluating the daily operation of the Addiction and Prevention programs; preparing budget and grant requests; collaborating with supervisory, service-delivery and support personnel in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures; and, develop, foster, maintain appropriate relationships with other agencies and individuals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field and six years professional experience in health services and four of which must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.

Applicants may substitute a master’s or Doctoral degree in a health or human services field for up to two years of the required general experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant should have education and clinical training recognized by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners or the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, and ,experience in direct clinical supervision of addictions counselors.
