Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for conducting internal audits to ensure that each division/unit of the agency operates in accordance with Federal, State and local child support laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines. The position is also responsible for providing support by gathering and submitting pertinent information and documents to aid Federal and State audits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: One year experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year experience conducting reviews or audits of a Maryland State government agency's processes.
  • One year experience writing reports that present recommendations and corrective actions based on review/audit findings.
  • One year experience conducting staff training.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This recruitment is limited to current employees working for Maryland State Government. 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service must accompany the application.  All information concerning your qualifications must be submitted by the closing date.  We will not consider information submitted after this date.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
