Main Purpose of Job

The employee in this position will serve as legal support to the Board of Dental Examiners. This contractual position will analyze health care data from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective to support strategic policy and program development. The employee will also provide support to Board Council in drafting formal and informal disciplinary orders. The incumbent will be responsible for providing in-depth research and support on Board initiatives relating to Compliance and serve in an advisory capacity legally as representative of Federal, State and local law enforcement and inspection agencies. The employee will also provide guidance and drafting services in matter of Board policies, procedures, forms, documentation and correspondence. This position will prepare expert level testimony on highly technical aspects of strategic health policy and health regulatory issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Notes:

1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
