Main Purpose of Job
The Contractual Health Policy Analyst II analyzes health care data surrounding the use of naloxone - medication used to reverse the effects of opioids especially in overdose - to support policy, program and service development in the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) Overdose Prevention Office in order to plan health care services to the substance use population within local jurisdictions; prepares reports summarizing the results of health care research including hospital discharges of overdose related admissions, correctional facility discharges, etc.; conducts research and analysis of factors affecting the use of naloxone to decrease the number of overdose deaths in Maryland.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.
NOTES:
1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
