Main Purpose of Job
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Fisheries Service is currently accepting applications for one (1) seasonal/contractual intern. The selected candidate will assist in regulatory, policy, legislative and administrative legal work under DNR's Policy and Planning Division. Primary duties will be to support all aspects of the Division that are listed below and not limited to the following:
- Write, research, and track regulations
- Assists DNR Fisheries Service and the Office of the Attorney General at DNR with legal research and case preparation on fisheries related contested case hearings
- Assist with data entry for fishing violations and preparing reports and information related to fishing violations
- Assist with fishing violations research
The position will be under close supervision of an assigned supervisor. The assigned work location for this position will be the Tawes State Office Building.
The work week will be at least 3 days a week, Monday through Friday.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of two semesters of course work at an ABA accredited law school.
Experience: None.
