Main Purpose of Job
This part time 25 hr/week position, will serve as the Food and Wellness Programs Coordinator. In this capacity, the incumbent will manage the Commodity Supplement Food Program by providing oversight for the distribution of commodity food packages for older Americans and provide support to the Program Manager of a statewide health promotion program. This position will be responsible for monitoring administrative records, performing warehouse inspections, issuing corrective action plans, creating outreach and nutrition education materials, monitoring and approving commodity food orders, and submitting required reports to various agencies. The incumbent must have strong organizational skills and have a great attention to program and fiscal details. Statewide travel and occasional evening or weekend hours are required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of experience in food service, nutrition programs, or project management field.
Candidate must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
