LOCATION OF POSITION

Department of Housing and Community Development Headquarters Office is located in Prince George's County at the New Carrollton Metro stop.

POSITION DUTIES

Department of Housing and Community Development is seeking a Claims Analyst for the Single Family Operations unit of the Division of Credit Assurance.  This position is for the Maryland Housing Fund, which is the state’s mortgage insurance entity. Responsibilities include: Analysis and approval of Single Family Insurance claims for the Department’s loan servicer; preparation and maintenance of various computer database records to post claim payments, termination of claim files, maintenance and updating claims from the point of foreclosure to the sale of the property. The position also performs post foreclosure sale servicing tasks, and authorizes escrow payments, determining deficit expenses eligible for reimbursement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please read carefully. Minimum qualifications are REQUIRED.

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

THIS POSITION IS LIMITED TO CURRENT PERMANENT, CONTRACTUAL AND TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES WORKING FOR (DHCD) DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
