Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is health related investigational work, both in the clinic and in the field, as part of a public health program aimed at the identification, control and/or education of chronic and communicable diseases.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in or a minimum of thirty credits in one of the biological and/or physical sciences.

Experience: Two years of experience in public health investigation work.

Notes:

 1. Applicants may substitute one year of experience in public health investigation work for the thirty credits in one of the biological and/or physical sciences.

 2. Applicants may substitute a Master’s degree in Public Health from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.

3.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Public Health Officer or Preventive Medical Officer classifications or Public Health Officer or Preventive Medical Officer specialty codes in the public health investigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
