Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Health Services Specialist II is the full performance level of health related investigational work, both in the clinic and in the community. The position responsibilities are aimed at the identification control and care coordination of chronic diseases related to High Blood Pressure, DM, and other health conditions. The incumbent will assist with the system approach model following Million Heart Health initiatives including but not limited to bridging the gap within health care systems and to minimize or eliminate barriers by utilizing resources that facilitate timely quality care. This is a full-time contractual position which may require working evening, weekend, or holiday hours as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in or a minimum of thirty credits in one of the biological and/or physical sciences.

Experience:  Two years of experience in public health investigation work.

NOTES:

1.  Applicants may substitute one year of experience in public health investigation work for the thirty credits in one of the biological and/or physical sciences.

2.  Applicants may substitute a Master’s degree in Public Health from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.

3.  Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Public Health Officer or Preventive Medical Officer classifications or Public Health Officer or Preventive Medical Officer specialty codes in the public health inventigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and eduction.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
