Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to assist the Deputy Director, Clinical Services Division and the Office of Adult and Specialized Behavioral Health Services by managing office resources, and providing administrative support. The Office of Adult and Specialized Behavioral Health Services consist of Specialized Behavioral Health Services (Special Populations), Adult Services, Women Services, and Treatment and Recovery units. This position works closely with the Program Director/Coordinators providing oversight of several specialized programs such as the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH), Continuum of Care Housing (CoC), Maryland Community Criminal Justice Partnership Program (MCCJTP), Trauma, Addictions, Mental Health and Recovery (TAMAR) Project, the Chrysalis House Healthy Start Program (CHHS), SSI/SSDI, Outreach, Access and Recovery (SOAR), the Homeless Project, the Housing First Initiative, behavioral health disaster services and services for individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing. This position will also provide limited administrative support to the other units within the Office of Adult and Specialized Behavioral Health Services and will coordinate the administrative duties of the Division with the Office Clerk for Adult Services and administrative staff for the Office of Quality Assurance/State Opioid Authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above at the rate of one year experience for 30 credit hours of education for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant should be able to complete statistical tables, organize trainings, prepare organizational charts, schedule meetings and plan and implement programs.  

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
