Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to to provide paraprofessional services to Frederick County WIC participants. The successful candidate will determine participants eligibility by interviewing and documenting information regarding residency, identity, income and nutrition/health risk of participants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience in health or human service delivery, performing tasks such as program eligibility determination, health screening, client referral services, or nutrition education.

Note: 1. Completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement. A copy of you transcripts must be attach with your application.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.  

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
