Main Purpose of Job

This position processes and approves business entities resolutions for legal sufficiency for the department's central repository file for public view; provides technical problem resolution and make corrections to public records maintained by the department; works with the Discovery program for forfeited foreign accounts that receive a vendor payment from the State or pay sales taxes to the Comptroller's office. Research customers failed credit card transactions on the department's internet.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: None

Note:  

1. Candidates may substitute one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required education, at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies  on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience with the Charter MBES system, the internet, Microsoft Excel and Word applications. 

* Knowledge regarding business entities, Personal Property returns, Trades and UCC financing statements.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

** This is a Position Specific Recruitment within the State Department of Assessment and Taxation (SDAT) and limited to current employees within the Headquarters Division of SDAT only.  **

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
