Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide clinical services to clients with the most significant substance use and co-occurring disorders through individual, group and family interventions. Significant numbers of this population are opioid dependent and receive Medication Assisted Therapy. The additional purpose of the position is to provide the knowledge and skill necessary to support the transformation of the agency as it moves to a fee for service environment and seeks national Accrediatation. Clinical supervision will be provided to lower level alcohol and drug counselors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LCADC).
Experience: Two years of experience providing licensed professional counseling to clients with substance use disorders by using assessment, evaluation, intervention, treatment and rehabilitation.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations 10.58.07, candidates placed in this classification must be licensed by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Please attach a current copy of your license.
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
