Introduction
This recruitment is only for permanent or contractual employees working with the Maryland Parole Commission for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. The resulting eligible list will be used to fill only the current vacancy at the Maryland Parole Commission.

LOCATION OF POSITION
Maryland Parole Commission, 6776 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21215.
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to schedule all Division of Correction inmates for initial parole hearings in accordance with Maryland Parole Commission policy, procedures and state law.
POSITION DUTIES

Reviews and processes pre-parole jail investigations received from DPSCS Community Supervision centers.

Determines parole eligibility by reviewing all commitments included in the inmate's total term of confinement.

Dockets parole hearings by preparing and organizing files, typing the dockets, and completing data entry.

Ensures that detention center staff are notified via email or fax no less than two weeks prior to scheduled parole hearings.

Distributes dockets and files to the Hearing Officers and/or Commissioners no less than eight business days prior to the scheduled parole hearings.

Ensures that files are tracked to the appropriate Hearing Officers and/or Commissioners in accordance with the weekly schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical duties.
Notes:
1. Additional experience performing clerical duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Applicants may substitute education from an accredited college or university at the rate of thirty semester credit hours for one year of experience on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
3. Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, database, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the requires experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administrative classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Clerical Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Strong ability to organize paper and electronic files and manage multiple processes.
