POSITION DUTIES
The incumbent for this position is responsible for providing secretarial support to the management staff of the Compliance Programs Section. Duties for this position include: setting up, creating, and typing memos, reports, form letters and templates to be used by management and the audit staff; proofreading outgoing correspondence; answering telephones; maintaining and requesting supplies; opening mail; recording payments and recording receipt and disposal of Federal information. The incumbent will also perform as back-up timekeeper as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.
NOTES:
- Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a typewriter or keyboard on a personal computer, computer terminal or work processor at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.

Qualifying applicants are subject to an oral interview. Prior to appointment, the employee must successfully undergo a comprehensive background investigation including a review of criminal, MVA and tax records; and determination of legal authorization to work in the United States or under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Upon initial appointment OR promotion to a position in the State Personnel Management System, an employee is required to serve an initial six month probationary period. This probationary period may be extended an additional six months under certain circumstances at the discretion of the appointing authority.
BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
