LOCATION OF POSITION

 DHCD's Headquarters Office is located in Prince George's County at the New Carrollton Metro stop.

POSITION DUTIES

DHCD has an immediate opening for a Business Development Representative to promote the interests of the Single Family Housing Programs, primarily the Maryland Mortgage Program (MMP). The position is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in underwriting Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, RHS, and FHA loans. The position assists with the outreach, recruitment and retention of the business partners of the Maryland Mortgage Program and its associated down payment and closing cost assistance initiatives. This position works with both internal and external clients to improve knowledge and performance through training and by development of reference materials, occasionally in Spanish. The position strengthens ties with existing partners and cultivates new relationships to expand the range of partners to ensure access to the programs across all geographic areas, as well as to support the Department's  risk management efforts by having diverse and adequately informed and educated lender partners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Six years of administrative or professional experience in financing and providing technical assistance for development or rehabilitation of multifamily or single family housing; neighborhood revitalization and business development; community infrastructure development; or historic preservation programs.

Notes:

1. Additional administrative or professional experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional job-related education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience at a rate of thirty credit hours for each year of experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in business and industry classification or business and industry specialty codes in the housing management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.   

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Fluency in the Spanish language to support providing training and education to Spanish-speaking audiences.  Ability to read and review Spanish flyers and other collateral materials.
  2. Experience and comfort in public speaking.  
  3. Knowledge and/or experience with the Maryland Mortgage Program and the Maryland housing industry.

Candidates must be willing to work in Prince George's County.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
