Main Purpose of Job

The main goal purpose of this position will be to function as a Computer Operator with the Maryland Board of Nursing assisting with printing licenses, certificates and renewal applications. The incumbent will also be responsible for  troubleshooting technical problems pertaining to licenses and applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two(2) years of professional experience operating multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems.

Notes: 1. Experience operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing or maintaining information may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Fifteen (15) credit hours in computer operation at an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Computer System Operations classifications or Computer System Operations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
