Main Purpose of Job

While this position has specific assignments, the main purpose of this position is to assist the Fiscal Services Chief II and the Accountant Supervisor as needed to compile data timely and accurately for inclusion in reports or submitted directly to controlling agencies. Additionally, this position provides support when needed to staff within the Finance Department.

POSITION DUTIES

Maintain and reconcile inventory records to physical counts;

Prepare reconciliation reports for management use;

Conduct annual training sessions for accountable officers;

Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to supplies, necessary repairs and equipment

Scheduling, conducting and reconciliation of annual fence-to-fence fixed asset and equipment inventory counts;

Inspects assigned areas to ensure work is performed in accordance with instructions and that any adjustments that may be necessary are made;

Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures within assigned areas of responsibility;

Estimates needs and requisitions supplies and equipment;

Performs other related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Note:

1. Additional experience as stated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).

1 year of experience conducting audits or inventory.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications is preferred, not required:

Assets Track System (A*Track), Maryland Offenders Banking System (MOBS) and Enterprise Management Inventory System (EMIS)

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Not Applicable.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
