Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position will be to function at the supervisory level of storekeeping work having responsibility for the management and operation of a large storeroom or supply storage facility of a State institution or department. Employees in this classification will supervise lower-level Supply Officers and may supervise stock clerks or patients engaged in the performance of storekeeping or related activities. Employees in this classification may work shifts, which include weekends and holidays. Some work may require lifting and moving of equipment, materials, and/or supplies weighing ten pounds or more.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years of professional experience in receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials or equipment in a storeroom, warehouse, or other supply storage facility.

Notes:

1. Additional experience as described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics or unit supply field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
