Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to design and coordinate program evaluation, including advanced statistical analysis techniques, within the Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control in support of major public health initiatives to assure grant and program activities are appropriately measured and reported.  This position is responsible for evaluation and statistical work involving collection, analysis, and dissemination of relevant program data and results.   This position will  design, support, monitor, and coordinate the design and completion of program evaluation, including advanced statistical analysis techniques. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a master’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum of nine semester hours, or the equivalent, of graduate coursework in research methodology, theoretical or applied statistics or measurement theory.

Experience: One year of post-master’s experience in statistical research.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Statistician classifications or Statistician and Intelligence Officer  specialty codes in the Statistics field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. 

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess at least one year of experience in public health evaluation.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
