Main Purpose of Job

The Assistant Superintendent functions as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is responsible for the organization in the absence of the CEO. The COO will direct the Program Director, Fiscal Specialist, HR Administrator, Maintenance Supervisor, Procurement Specialist, Supply Officer, and Director of Nursing, while also being responsible for all program planning, organizing, operating and staffing. He/she is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the program aspect of the annual budget in conjunction with the Fiscal Specialist. He/she is responsible for ensuring that all services are in compliance with all Federal, State, and Licensing requirements. The COO will also assist the CEO in planning, organizing and implementing a Strategic Plan that aligns with the Mission/Vision, and policies of DDA & DHMH.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Health, Human Services or Management Field and have 5 years of administrative experience, including 2 years of a managerial or supervisory level.  A related Masters Degree will substitute for one year of general experience. 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience managing or supervising one or more hospital or residential care facility support service units or departments such as accounting/budget, Personnel, Plant management/Maintenance, Purchasing, Food Service, etc. is desirable
