Main Purpose of Job

The Emergency Medical Service Training Specialist II will oversee the Emergency Medical Responder course applications, EMR processing for refresher and initial courses. Oversee the Law Enforcement Emergency Medical Care Course (LEEMCC), assist the Basic Life Support (BLS) EMS Training Specialist II with processing Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) refreshers and administering EMT practical examinations. Assist with EMR and EMT course development and attend BLS committee meetings.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Two years of experience developing, implementing and conducting training and testing for the certification of providers of emergency medical services.

Note:

Additional experience as a  certified emergency medical services provider, certified emergency medical services instructor or emergency medical services test evaluator may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification are required to possess current certification as an Emergency Medical Services Provider and Emergency Medical Services Instructor.

2. Persons appointed to positions in this classification are required to maintain current certification as an Emergency medical Services Provider and Emergency Medical Services Instructor.

3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator license valid in the State of Maryland.
