Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Citizens Review Board for Children (CRBC) Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator.  A The Coordinator is responsible for promoting the achievement of program's mission and goals by: planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of statewide community recruitment activities; Recruiting volunteers for all CRBC local boards statewide; plan, organize, and facilitate required CRBC New Member Volunteer Training; organize, and facilitate CRBC Volunteer refresher training.

POSITION DUTIES

Recruits volunteers for all CRBC local boards statewide. Coordinates all 23 counties and Baltimore City’s community recruitment efforts. Staff CRBC Informational/Recruitment Table at statewide community and DHR events. Develops and maintains a CRBC Recruitment Log. Provides detailed monthly written report for CRBC Asst. Administrator. Collaborates with CRBC Volunteer Specialist about monthly website updates and events.  Creates and implements community recruitment relationship plan; Maintains relationships with collaborative partners and cultivate new ones. Attends relevant community meetings, and participate in State Board meetings; Maintains a monthly community events calendar; Works with Volunteer Specialist and staff to develop recruitment activities; Collaborates with CRBC Asst Administrator about community recruitment advertising efforts; Manages and co-facilitates with Staff Assistant Supervisor all CRBC New Member Volunteer Training and Refresher Volunteer Training.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university to include 30 credit hours in social sciences, journalism, or public relations or a related field.
 
Experience: Three years of experience involving planning, coordinating and evaluating volunteer activities in a state facility, institution or community-based program.
 
Notes:
1. Additional experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
 
2. Graduate level education in social sciences, journalism, public relations or a related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for experience at a rate of 30 college credits for up to two years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor degree in Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.  This includes 30 credit hours noted in the above education requirement. 
  • At least two years experience in volunteer management (especially volunteer recruitment).
  • At least two years experience in community outreach and organizing, social work, program development, or related field in the public and/or nonprofit sector.
  • Technically adept at using various social media platforms. 
  • Must possess a driver's license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Proficiency with current Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Power Point.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Limited to candidates willing to accept employment in Baltimore County.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

2. Persons appointed to positions in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Persons appointed to positions in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.
