Main Purpose of Job

Responsible for developing and implementing a marketing and advertising strategic plan and campaign to educate consumers, professionals, and local, State and federal partners on the Maryland Access Point (MAP) toll-free phone number, MAP website, and MAP services, including Options Counseling. Responsible for developing a marketing strategy and campaign to include, but not be limited to, use of social media, outreach to traditional media sources, and identification of potential vendors for advertising. Must develop and procure marketing materials, promotional items, videos, and news releases; and plan and organize outreach events and conferences that support MAP. Will be responsible for working with the Department's Communications staff to develop press releases and other public communications materials; assist local MAP site staff to align the statewide campaign with local marketing efforts and other such marketing duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or University.

Experience: One (1) year experience in administrative or professional work:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidate may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants who possess the following skill:

  • Marketing and advertising experience

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.  Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
