Main Purpose of Job

"This position provides technical advisement to the Maryland Army National Guard and Maryland Military Department Environmental Officer in matters pertaining to Cultural Resource Management and Integrated Training Area Management. The incumbent works as the environmental assessment principle that provides an on-site assessment of Maryland Army National Guard facilities regarding compliance with cultural resources. The incumbent will be working/coordinating with the National Guard Bureau Cultural Resource representative as well as the Maryland State Historic Preservation Office(SHPO) for data basing and documenting cultural resources."

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the fields of art, art history, anthropology, archeology, architectural history, historic preservation, history, or any other discipline in the area of cultural resources.

Experience: Three years of professional experience in the research, analysis, and evaluation of cultural resources for environmental evaluation purposes.

Notes:

1. Possession of a Master’s degree in one of the disciplines required in the option for which application is made may be substituted for one year of the required experience in that option.

2. Possession of a Doctorate degree in one of the disciplines required in the option for which application is made may be substituted for the two years of the required experience in that option.

** For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.htm.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to pass a National Agency Check and be issued a Common Access Card.
