Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Trims bushes, pick-up debris and trash, empties trash cans, cleans the parking lots, and maintains the lawn equipment; performs general cleaning of assigned areas that includes cleaning bathrooms, wiping off furniture, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping of floors; performs miscellaneous duties in the supply department, assists with the shipping and receiving, filling supply requisitions, and taking inventory; loading and transporting of furniture and equipment from various State facility locations; assists with room set-ups for center meetings; assists with general building maintenance related projects; serving as an assistant to the carpenter and plumber, along with performing preventive maintenance related tasks
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: None.
Experience: Six months of experience cleaning, maintaining and servicing buildings and grounds.
Note: Employee in this classification may be subject to call 24 hours a day and may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used to clean, maintain and service State buildings and grounds; knowledge of the safe use, adjustment and maintenance of manual and power tools and equipment used in cleaning, maintaining and servicing State buildings and grounds; ability to sweep and clean floors, halls, sidewalks, stairways, patios and parking lots; ability to follow instructions.
