DHCD’s Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) strives to provide comprehensive public relations and marketing communications services to support and promote all of DHCD’s many programs and services.  OCM is part of the Office of the Secretary, and reports to the agency’s Chief-of-Staff.

LOCATION OF POSITION

Crownsville, Maryland

In the future, DHCD will be relocating from Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, to the New Carrollton transit stop location in Prince George’s County.

POSITION DUTIES

This position provides direct marketing leadership and development to DHCD divisions as required. This position will lead, coordinate, improve and enhance the marketing of the Departments programs and services across homeownership, foreclosure prevention, small business support, community revitalization and other activities. It will include indirect partner engagement, with an emphasis on creating and implementing new marketing programs through professional and industry groups, community organization and employer partners.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Five years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. One year of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

3 years of experience in account management in a consultancy, agency, or corporate environment.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Demonstrated project management skills

 ·         Excellent communication skills

 ·         Proficiency with MS Office and Google Docs

 ·         Experience with CRM systems and marketing automation tools (Act-On, Eloqua, Marketo, Pardot, Silverpop)

 ·         Experience with SharePoint or similar website management tools
