Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Nurse Practitioner/Midwife II is the full performance level of work providing primary health care to patients in community settings, local health department clinics and State health facilities.  This position will provide primary health care to adolescent and adult clients who participate in clinics or are residents of inpatient units.  This contractual position which must be certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner could be full-time or part-time.  The vacancy is located in the mountains of Western Maryland, approximately 150 miles from Baltimore City.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:    Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses under the certification requirements for Nurse Practitioner or Nurse-Midwife.

Experience:  One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or as a Nurse-Midwife.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Vacancy is located in the mountains of Western Maryland, approximately 150 miles from Baltimore City.  The selected candidate must be willing to travel to that location.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1.  Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner or as a Nurse Midwife from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.

2.  Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
