Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Health Policy Analyst I is the intermediate level of work evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.  These positions will support the Long Term Supports and Services Administration within Medicaid by reviewing and analyzing current policies and practices, as well as developing new policies and regulations.  These analysts will also be responsible for providing support in coordinating a stakeholder process, organizing public hearings, and analyzing feedback from participants, providers, advocates and other partners.  They will provide training, technical assistance, and compliance monitoring for community providers.  Regular communication will be necessary with partner agencies, including Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Mental Hygiene Administration (MHA) provider networks, and the Hilltop Institute.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:    A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:  One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

NOTE:

A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
