LOCATION OF POSITION

Crownsville, Maryland

In the future, DHCD will be relocating from Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, to the New Carrollton transit stop location in Prince George’s County.

POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this job is to provide general support of a financial nature to employees in CDA Finance and the Division of Development Finance, thereby supporting the goals of CDA and the mission of DHCD as described in MFR documents. This position is responsible for complex reconciliations relating to check deposits, multi-family project ledgers, insurance payments, real-estate owned property expenses, and investment transactions, as well as millions of dollars of single family loans. This position maintains primary responsibility for funding hundreds of CDA second mortgage loans (DSELPs) at the closing table. This process requires careful coordination with CDA's Single Family division, CDA's Trustee and management. The processing of DSELP wires must include proper verification, reconciliation and flawless execution. This is an extraordinarily time-sensitive process, which impacts CDA's relationships with its network of lender partners, as well as the vast majority of CDA borrowers.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications are REQUIRED. You must meet these qualifications to be considered for this position.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.

Note: Candidates may substitute experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10 years of experience handling cash transactions.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing time-sensitive administrative functions.
  • Knowledge of the mortgage loan industry and affordable housing programs.
